Pickerel: We are all about pickerel fishing right now! The Severn, Magothy and Patapsco Rivers are hot along with Eastern shore ponds like Johnson, Smithville, Unicorn and Tuckahoe. You can also fish Tuckahoe creek up to Hillsboro. You’ll find them in shallow water, especially around structure. Our favorite combo to fish for them is a 1/4 oz jig head with a 4″ Zman Diezel Minnow. A minnow on a bobber works great too!

Yellow Perch: We are hearing more reports of yellow perch showing up in the creeks! You can fish for them in the same places as Pickerel, and in the same way. Minnows are especially effective!

Snakehead: We have heard reports of people both seeing and catching Snakehead while fishing the western shore rivers! Paddletails and minnows work well for Snakehead too, so head out pickerel fishing, and you never know, what might be a “by catch.”

Rockfish: We’ve heard a couple reports of Rockfish being caught and released down near the Power Plant, but nothing too crazy yet! The big ones should show up soon!
