Mike’s favorite White Perch Rig for Early Spawn Season!
Tandem Rigs Double Your Odds
A Tandem White Perch Rig consists of a shad dart and a #12 gold Tony Accetta spoon that can be tied with either a perfection loop or a small 3-way swivel.
The rig itself is made of a 6-10lb monofilament, tied 8-10 inches to the shad dart, which weighs the rig down. Make sure to tie 12-24 inches of filament to the spoon. The weight of the shad dart will allow the rig to sink deep. You will then do a slow jig and retrieve, keeping the tandem rig close to the bottom, where the perch are usually found.
Mike’s favorite bait is a worm or grass shrimp on the shad dart with a minnow trailing on the spoon.
